Walnut Potica

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cakes yeast
- 6 c flour
- 1 c milk
- 1/4 lb butter
- 2/3 c lukewarm water
- 3 eggs
- 1 c sugar
- 3/4 t salt
Procedure
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
- When thoroughly dissolved, mix in 1 cup flour.
- Beat eggs, scald milk, melt butter.
- Add these with sugar and salt to the yeast mixture.
- Add remaining flour and knead.
- Brush top with butter, cover, let double in bulk.
- Roll out thin and spread with filling:
- 2 lbs shelled nuts
- 3 eggs
- 6 graham crackers (crushed finely)
- 1 c honey
- 1 c cream
- Grind nuts, heat honey, warm cream, mix nuts with honey and cream.
- Combine with beaten eggs and cracker crumbs.
- Spread dough with filling, rolling like a jelly roll.
- Let rise again, bake as bread - 350°, 40-55 min.
MAKES 4 LARGE LOAVES
